I made this card up the other night, its a 'case' (copy and selectively edit) from the lovely monica, although mine's no where near as nice!! My understanding is that if people put cards/layouts on their blogs its fine to 'case' them as long as you give credit to the original artist..having said that it does always feel a bit like cheating?? how do you feel..do you 'case'???

We all need inspiration from somewhere be it someone else's finished card or a sketch. Surely part of blogging our stuff is not just 'look at me' but also 'can I help?', 'do you want an idea?' or 'try this'. The person who originated the idea will always know it was theirs. If they are too precious about their work they should keep it under wraps!
I totally agree with Dddeeebbbzzz!! I like to blog hop for inspiration and always put my own touch on things, having said that I do come up with my own ideas too!! I think part of showing your work is to do just as has been said, give ideas and help. I doubt anything is truely original, things go round and round and change on the way. Of course credit where due and if applicable should be noted.
I thinkyour cards are lovely! As for Caseing, I have never heard it called that, but I think most people do it somewhere along the line. I wouldnt be upset if someone cased mine, so long as they acknowledged me! Anyway, there is only so many ways that you can put card to paper so somewhere along the line things will be similar.
This is a lovely card - I totally agree with caseing!
To me isn't that what Blogging and posting pictures of our lastest LO's is all about..... yes of course we all want to hear how nice something looks. but isn't it nicer when someone say's WOW!!! that's great I may "scraplift" or as you say "case" that.
after all isn't imitation the best form of flattery (sp?).
By the way I love your work and will scraplift some idea's hope Ya don't mind? ;)
Your card is beautfiul and I am flattered that I ve inspired you to have a go making a similar card like mine, crafting is about sharing and that s what I do, I share things I make on my blog so others can see it, in turn I get inspired everyday of my life from various sources and yes I COPY/CASE elements or layouts I find appealing to me, I think I do have my own style and I find that my card looks nothing like the one I tried to copy when completed. I say case to your heart content and give credit where is due, but I m not anal about that. I would never feel cheated if someone copied one of my cards without crediting me. HAVE FUN creating, that s all that matters. Hugs Monica xxx
